At 125 Greenwich Street, a new skyscraper rising in Manhattan’s Financial District, Bizzi & Partners Development is turning the typical condominium model on its head.
The amenity spaces, often placed on a building’s lower levels, are instead at the very top of the 912-foot-tall structure, on floors 86 through 88. And while developers tend to put larger apartments on higher floors, this building reserves room for studios on upper levels. In fact, there are no studio apartments below the 61st floor. Rather than impressing with wide-open spaces, many of the apartments are on the smaller side, starting at just 418 square feet.

Plans have been unveiled for 125 Greenwich Street, an 88-story residential skyscraper that will rise above New York’s Financial District. The tower is being designed by Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly, while British design studio March & White is developing the building’s luxury interiors. The project will be Viñoly’s second Manhattan skyscraper, having already completed 432 Park Avenue. Rising to a total height of 912 feet (278 meters), 125 Greenwich Street will contain 273 units ranging from studios to three-bedroom condominium residences. Offering sweeping city views, the building’s top three floors will be dedicated to lifestyle and wellness amenities. Facilities include a 50′ (15m) lap pool, a spa with a sauna and steam room, and a fitness center with a private training room and yoga studio. Dining areas, as well as an events space and screening room, are also included.

It’s been a long time coming, but the day is finally here: Rafael Viñoly’s Financial District skyscraper at 125 Greenwich Street has finally hit the market. The sales launch comes along with a deluge of new information about the building—including interior renderings, floorplans, finishes, and pricing—much of which has been kept under wraps as the highly secretive project by Bizzi & Partners has plodded forward.
A New York Times visit earlier this month to the building’s sales gallery, on the showy 84th floor of One World Trade Center, illuminated new details about 125 Greenwich’s layout. Unlike the slew of other new pricey condo buildings that have come online in the past few years, 125 Greenwich Street will turn the model of larger, pricier condos at the top of the building on its head.

125 Greenwich Street isn’t as tall as 432 Park Avenue, a sleek supertall that looms over its neighborhood like the first kid in the class to hit puberty. But Viñoly’s FiDi skyscraper is still plenty stringy: Rising 88 stories, the 912-foot-tall glass-shrouded tower just south of the World Trade Center will house luxury condos with interiors by March & White, a British firm that built its reputation designing superyachts.

London-based architecture and design firm March & White (founded by Elliot March and James White) started out designing superyacht interiors, followed by private members-only establishments such as the Devonshire Club in London. The dynamic design duo is now working on their first large-scale residential project in the United States: 125 Greenwich, an 88-story, 912-foot-tall condominium skyscraper in downtown Manhattan.
Architecture for the 273-unit building was designed by architect Rafael Viñoly, with interiors by March & White. The underlying theme for all their projects, the pair says, is elegance with an edge—a goal they achieved by mixing timeless elements like Calacatta Covelano marble with striking modern touches like metal trims and frameless glass showers.

New details and interior renderings of Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly's latest residential skyscraper for New York City have been released.
The tower under construction at 125 Greenwich Street will become the architect's second in Manhattan, after the supertall 432 Park Avenue.
Located just south of the World Trade Center development, it will climb to 912 feet (278 metres) among the cluster of tall buildings in Downtown Manhattan's Financial District.
Rafael Viñoly Architects designed the building around a pair of concrete structural supports, which will extend all the way up its centre and be articulated on its exterior. Fully glazed apartments benefitting from column-free floor plates will then project from either side.

National Certified Testing Laboratories, based in York, Pa., tested a mock-up of an 88-story luxury condo tower scheduled for completion next year in downtown Manhattan. The building, called 125 Greenwich Street, was designed by Rafael Viñoly and features rounded corners.
